Episode 79: Behind the Scenes at Aqua Magazine with Scott Webb and Cailley Hammel

In this episode, we had the pleasure of interviewing Scott Webb who is the Executive Editor and Cailley Hammel who is the Managing Editor of Aqua Magazine. A few weeks ago, they flew us up to chilly Madison, WI to visit the Aqua Magazine headquarters where we had the opportunity to tour the building and meet the dedicated people that work on the magazine each month. We learned a lot and had a ton of fun with the team. We get the magazine every month, but we really wanted to see what it takes to push out a new issue each and every month. Seeing and hearing it really makes you appreciate all the hard work that goes into it.

During the interview, we got a behind the scenes look into how everything works. We dove into their 40 years of history, the Aqua Show, some classic issues, their goals in the industry, topics they cover and don’t cover, how content is selected, and some of the hot topics going on in the industry today. We also have a great discussion on how the industry has changed over the last few years with people being more willing to share information. We hope you enjoy the episode as much as we did!
